PARTY 03. BACK IN TIME IN THE TOWER

HISTORIC TOWER DISTRICT
Join host, famed landscape architect Robert Boro, for a visit to a historic house designed in 1916 by architect Ernest Kump Sr., currently restored and adapted for Bob’s offices. Then adjourn to his nearby 1930s ancestral family home for lunch and discussion of family history. The Levy family home is a California Spanish style residence originally built by Bob’s grandparents, Herbert and Madeline Levy and designed by architect William Coates of Coates and Traver. You may not be ready to come back to the present!

PARTY 04. IN THE SHADOW OF LITTLE TABLE MOUNTAIN

Springtime is perfect to celebrate with friends and family on a hike around the historic Urrutia Ranch. Now in its third generation in the Urrutia family, Little Table Mountain – which is the ancient San Joaquin River bottom – is the centerpiece of this historic cattle ranch. Be sure to bring your camera for your guided tour. This ranch boasts panoramic views, distinctive and multi-hued rock outcroppings, wildflowers and grasses. After the hike, gather in the Hallowell’s historic barn for a traditional Basque barbeque, replete with wine and beer.

PARTY 05. SAYONARA TOUR

CLARK CENTER FOR JAPANESE ART AND CULTURE
Journey to Hanford and reminisce about the many contributions of the Clark Center through the years. The Center is due to close soon so this is a special opportunity to view its many fine collections. A docent will lead a tour of the Center’s last exhibit, Elegant Pastimes: Masterpieces of Japanese Art. Be sure to stroll through the exquisite bonsai garden, designed to “hide and reveal”. Our journey will end back in Fresno with a traditional Japanese lunch at Yoshinos. Transportation is provided. Fans and kimonos optional!

Why go to Kentucky when one of the best thoroughbred operations in the country is right here in the Valley? Learn about race horse breeding at the source. Carpool to Harris Horse Farms on the Westside and tour the farm with David McGlothlin, Manager of the Horse Division at Harris Farms since 1981. David has overseen the growth of the division to over 450 acres and over 400 horses. Get a sneak peek at the newest crop of foals and potential winners. Conclude the tour with the “Cowboy Buffet” at the famed Harris Ranch Restaurant.

PARTY 07. INTO AFRICA

Ralph and Cheryl are your guides as you venture “Into Africa.” Ralph, a former Director of the Chaffee Zoo, and Cheryl have over two decades of experience guiding tours to the fabled continent. Their knowledge of African culture and indigenous wildlife will bring you close to the real thing. Begin with a traditional safari happy hour, known as “Sundowners.” Senegalese Kora virtuoso Amadou will mesmerize you with interpretations of traditional stories through music. Your hosts will present a sumptuous feast with the flair of true African chefs. Safari attire is encouraged!
