Meet at Chinquapin and car pool to Glacier Point to enjoy a quick hiker’s breakfast before embarking on a leisurely decent to Yosemite Valley. The trail’s scenic splendor includes many of Yosemite’s famous landmarks and gorgeous waterfalls. We recommend this four mile, mostly downhill trek, for experienced hikers. PARTY 19. MEDITERRANEAN PARADISE

SATURDAY JUNE 20, 6:30 pm
BOHIGIAN URBAN FARM
How fortunate we are to live in one of the few Mediterranean climate zones in the world, hospitable to a bounty of fruits, nuts, and vegetables. Enjoy a summer evening in the shaded garden of one of Fresno’s hidden urban farms, home to twenty-six stone fruit trees, nine citrus trees and several grape varieties. A large vegetable and flower garden complement the adobe home. Dine al fresco on a seasonal California-Mediterranean menu of locally sourced ingredients, some from the hosts’ own gardens. Good wine is a necessity, but the most important part of the evening is you!

PARTY 20. TO BEE OR NOT TO BEE

SATURDAY AUGUST 1, 6:00 pm
STONEBRIDGE CLUB HOUSE
Farmers depend on bees to pollinate their orchards. Questions abound regarding the decline of honey bee populations and there is much interest in studying the change. Bee keeper Mike Tolmacho will bring an exhibition hive and an update on the bee industry. A tasting of several flavors of honey will precede a fabulous dinner featuring honey, of course, prepared by Chef Roy Harland of Mike Shirinian’s Elbow Room. This is a fascinating look at an industry vital to agriculture as well as a sweet treat of an evening!
