You are not alone. There are others who love Scrabble just as fanatically as you. Join them at the River Center for a sensational scrabble scramble and breakfast. The fun begins with frittata and scones. Find your group from casual players to competition challengers. Prizes and lots of play are the order of the day. All ages welcome.

Party 45 SOLAR PARTY AT OK PRODUCE

OK Produce, Fresno

Join Brady, Chad and Matty Matoian as they lead a tour of their OK Produce facility and its famous roof–the first and largest solar power system in Central California. OK Produce, founded in 1950 to provide restaurants and grocery stores with the freshest fruits and vegetables available. The highlight of your evening will be a gourmet dinner featuring the freshest and best of local produce and products. Guests will take home an assortment of seasonal produce – a great way to celebrate the bounty of the San Joaquin Valley.

Hallowell Residence, Madera County

One of the most popular parties of the year, this special evening takes place in the Hallowell’s wonderful hilltop home. You’ll begin the evening with champagne beside the infinity pool, enjoying the cooling breezes and a magnificent sunset. View the Hallowell’s collection of art and artifacts from around the world. Live music will play while hosts extraordinaire James, Coke and Joyce will serve an incredible four-course meal under the oak trees. This is always a sellout, don’t miss it!

Party 47 A RIVER, A CREEK & A LAKE
Tuesday, July 21, 2009 – 12:00 noon
Big Creek

Take a break from the summer heat and head to Big Creek for a picnic lunch and tour of Edison Company’s Power House #1. You’ll discover how the San Joaquin River is the “hardest working water in the world.” Then follow your hosts up to Huntington Lake for an easy, three-mile round-trip hike to a spectacular overlook of the power house and the town of Big Creek. Finally enjoy a salmon dinner on the deck of the Wattenbarger family’s cabin before heading back down the hill.

Party 48 HIGH SIERRA WILDFLOWER WALK AND LUNCH
Saturday, July 25, 2009 – 9:30 a.m.
Murphy Cabin, Huntington Lake

Meet at the Murphy’s rustic cabin near Huntington Lake for hot coffee and fruit, then accompany botanist Joanna Clines on a short walk through nearby red fir forests and mountain meadows. Become acquainted with the common trees, shrubs and wildflowers typical of the red fir zone. Immerse yourself in the natural history of the high Sierra while enjoying the cooling breezes and gentle sun found at 7,000 feet. Return to the cabin for a sumptuous lunch prepared by the incomparable Lizabeth Laury.
