Party 53. GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT…ITALIAN STYLE

Enjoy a “Girls’ Night Out” at Nonnie’s House (local clothing boutique) with a wonderful Italian dinner combined with an easy-going fashion show of eclectic, new fall selections chosen from the best lines of clothing. Sip wine from the Joseph Ribkoff Winery and listen to Italian music performed by a strolling accordion player. Dinner will feature authentic Italian food prepared by Carmela Liberta, based on recipes she learned from her mother, Maria, in the village of Bojano, Compobasso, a province in South Central Italy. This is a special evening of food and fashion – Italian style! You’ll be reluctant to say “arrivederci.”

Each guest will be treated to a pedicure and a choice of a one hour customized facial or aromatherapy massage. Feeling crafty? Dorothy will teach you how to create your own unique concrete leaf castings made from real leaves. Choose from angel’s trumpet, hosta, fig, elephant ear or other leaves to use as molds for creations to adorn your home or garden as water catchers for birds and butterflies, bird feeders or garden ornaments. They can also be used as soap dishes or wall hangings. Complete your project and join fellow crafters for a delicious luncheon served in the elegant conference room of the River Center. You’ll love this special day with its “leaf motif.” Dress to get dirty!

Party 56. DINNER ON THE BLUFF

Come to an al fresco dinner party at the Hering’s beautiful new home on the bluff overlooking the San Joaquin River and the Spano River Ranch. The Ranch is an important part of the Parkway’s River West Open Space area. Feast on a Mediterranean inspired buffet and wines while watching for birds on the ponds below. Revel in the peaceful sounds and sights of nature. What a lovely way to spend an Indian summer evening!
